PMS. the silent killer.
Symptoms of parked motorcycle syndrome include pacing back an forth, irritability, headaches, nausea, and depression. If you or a loved one are suffering from PMS, please get out and find a bike and go for a ride. Prolonged exposure to a parked motorcycle with a full tank of gas has been proven to drive you completely insane.

Parked Motorcycle Syndrome sounds like something that would greatly extend your expected lifespan.

Mine is covered in snow and ice (and a cover) and the carbs are are need of a rebuild anyway so I can't even ride it in the snow (a thing I have done in the past...) *SOB* and I'm moving soon so and my landlord has already warned me about "projects" in the basement...

Mine is in the corner of the living room, on stands. So at least I get to see it regularly.
Last week I put my gear on and sat on it for a bit, while making vrooming sounds. Just to make sure everything still fits, of course. My first day out is in 2 months. Gotta be ready!

I expect 45 more days, minimum, until I can get my bikes out of the shed. It feels like forever

That is a very cool SV.
Love it with the single sider... but then again, I once owned an NT650 Honda Hawk GT... a V-twin aluminum frame single-sided swingarm bike from 1989... that format has always appealed to me, and I love fixed-bearing half fairing bikes... sleek lines above the wheels, mechanicals visible between the wheels.
An SV1000S with a VFR or Triumph swingarm conversion would definitely be high on my list, and pretty much the top of my japanese-manufacturer list of bikes.
Unfortunately the Parked Motorcycle Syndrome was exacerbated by delayed maintenance dystrophy, and the hawk was sold as a casualty of other financial obligations, which remain a factor that continually impedes my hobby funding capability, but I am hoping that my motorcyclectomy is reversible at some point in the future.

It was 70 here two days ago so I got to take the bike out. That 3 minute trip around the block still lingers...

6th gen VFR800 SSSA's actually bolt right up to seond gen SV's. AND they could be had with ABS. I'm VERY tempted to get one, but i need to get the bike riding first, and with uni and what not, and the fact that I may want to replace it in a few years, I dont really want to spend the $

I optimistically shoveled the 3 feet of snow away from the shed where mine is stored just on the hopes that someday, it might be warm/clear enough to ride in the next month or so.
It's been just over a month since I rode and it's all I can think about in the back of my mind when I' driving the Jeep to/from work.

I suffer fromPMS. I speak out in the hopes that it strengthens others to speak out. Maybe together we can change peoples persperception of this crippling syndrome and get this global warming thing into high gear.
End PMS. Melt the caps. Ride or die.
